Nidaplast
Nidaplast

Nidaplast, the very resistant and ultra light Honeycombs structure to lighten the road and landscaped embankment.

The construction of embankments in ultra-light materials exists for more than 25 years with in particular the arrival of Nidaplast polypropylene honeycombs blocks and panels.

The use of light materials for embankment limits the loads applied to the surface of the soil of foundation and improves the stability of the structure while decreasing the deformations of the soil. The low density of the product nidaplast® RA, associated with its good resistance to compression, makes easy its use in road embankment on compressible or unstable soils.

It is also used to lighten engineering or civil engineering structure or for landscaped embankment, requiring fast and economic installations. In every case of soils with limited carrying capacity, nidaplast® RA is a good solution:

  • To limit loads applied to the surface of the soil of foundation or the structure
  • To limit the collapses of the soil support
  • To decrease the side pushes

Nidaplast honeycombs are covered by a specific guide for the use in lightweight embankment: the technical guide "Use of ultra lightweight honeycomb structures in road embankment" by the LCPC, Central Laboratory of the Department of civil engineering (1992).
