The concept of nidaplast

The honeycombs in thermoplastic were born from the crossing of a material (the plastic) and a structure (the honeycomb) issued from an innovative search in the 80s to obtain resistant and very light materials. This invention aimed at democratizing a technology already used in the aeronautics: honeycombs used as core for structural panels. Nidaplast is proud to be at the origin of the integration of this technique for structures used in the yachting, the building, the industrial equipments sectors. Today nidaplast has 25 years of experience with several millions of m² of products sold worldwide, used as a composite material to lighten structures. nidaplast Composites link

Very fast, the Polypropylene honeycombs has proved important potential in other fields of application such as blocks for rainwater storage, lightweight embankment or also for ground reinforcement and stabilization. nidaplast Environnement link

An industriel concept

To have a product combining high resistance and low weight, nidaplast, finalized a process of extrusion in order to manufacture cost effective panels or blocks with a honeycombs structure, in a big quantity. It was a successful mean of production in the middle of the 80s. Becoming the designer of the genuine honeycombs extruded in polypropylene, nidaplast never stop improving its concept.
