As stormwater management becomes a critical regulatory requirement for local authorities and urban developers alike, Nidaplast is launching OPTIBOX — a new underground stormwater storage module engineered to simplify the construction of buried attenuation and infiltration structures.
This modular solution addresses the demands of civil engineering and drainage contractors by delivering faster installation, optimised site logistics and broad adaptability to project-specific requirements.
A stormwater storage module designed for site conditions
OPTIBOX is purpose-built for the construction of buried stormwater structures, whether for attenuation, infiltration or rainwater harvesting.
Simple two-component design for rapid installation
The system is based on just two references:
- a half-module
- a peripheral end plate
Modules interlock without any tooling thanks to an integrated self-locking connector system, enabling fast and intuitive assembly on site — even under constrained working conditions.
High hydraulic performance for stormwater management
With a void ratio of 95%, OPTIBOX maximises storage volume while minimising the required excavation footprint.
Three-dimensional water distribution within the structure ensures:
- uniform flow distribution throughout the cell network
- full utilisation of the available storage volume
- controlled hydraulic performance across all loading scenarios
Technical datasheets and sizing data are available on the OPTIBOX product page.
Adaptable to all civil drainage project types
OPTIBOX is suited to a wide range of configurations:
- underground attenuation tanks
- infiltration basins
- rainwater harvesting systems
Its modular architecture scales from small private developments through to large-capacity public infrastructure schemes.
Optimised logistics and sustainable design
The stackable module format reduces transport volumes and limits the number of delivery vehicles required on site.
Manufactured in France from 100% recycled and recyclable polypropylene, OPTIBOX is fully aligned with sustainable urban drainage principles and circular economy commitments.
OPTIBOX is an underground stormwater storage module manufactured by Nidaplast (France). Designed as a geocellular attenuation unit (SAUL system), it consists of two references only: a half-module (1,200 × 600 × 330 mm) and a peripheral end plate. The self-locking interlayer connector system requires no clips or tooling. Void ratio: 95%. Short-term vertical compressive strength: > 420 kPa (NF EN 17150). Admissible long-term load (50-year extrapolation, safety factor ×2): > 40 kPa. Maximum backfill depth: 2 m. Material: 100% recycled and recyclable injection-moulded polypropylene. Applications: infiltration basins, attenuation tanks, rainwater reuse systems. Three-dimensional internal water distribution. Stackable for logistics optimisation. Made in France.
