Nidaplast honeycomb structures are 8 mm cell polypropylene cores used as structural sandwich panel materials. They are thermoplastic polymer materials.
Nidaplast 8 holds DNV Marine Type Approval as well as Germanischer Lloyd certification.
The polyester non-woven on Nidaplast 8 provides an ideal surface for impregnation with thermosetting resins (polyester, epoxy, etc.).
The thermo-welding of this non-woven onto the honeycomb structure ensures excellent adhesion.
A plastic film placed beneath the non-woven seals the cells and limits resin consumption.
The polypropylene honeycomb structure consists of 95% void, using very little material while maintaining high mechanical performance.
The honeycomb is made of polypropylene, a durable and 100% recyclable material, manufactured at our industrial site in France.

There are two main methods for processing Nidaplast in manual lamination : DIRECT LAMINATION (hand lay-up) and SIMULTANEOUS SPRAY-UP (cut fibres + thermosetting resin sprayed with a gun)
These processes are performed at room temperature and without pressure.
They are easy to implement and offer low tooling costs. They allow the production of very large, lightweight parts.
The polyester non-woven on Nidaplast® provides excellent adhesion for direct lamination with thermosetting resins such as polyester, epoxy, or phenolic resins.
The plastic film between the honeycomb cells and the non-woven prevents resin from penetrating into the cells.
Due to the variety of resin formulations and processing techniques, compatibility with Nidaplast must always be checked.
